On Saturday, March 17, the National Christian College Athletic Association hosted a community-wide sports clinic for children ages 6-18 for the Parks and Recreation Department of Palm Coast, Florida. This was the second year for conducting the sports clinic which is an extension of the NCCAA's Pro-Am Golf Event held at Hammock Beach Resort every March. Last year the NCCAA Administration committee decided to do a Christian Service project

connecting the golf tournament with ministry outreach using athletes from NCCAA schools to conduct sports clinics in soccer, baseball, and golf. The community's response was so overwhelming, the event was held again this year, adding the sports of volleyball and basketball.

With over 120 children present, Clearwater Christian Volleyball was glad to represent and lend assistance in the NCCAA efforts. Senior Emma Kile, alumnus Rachel Farrell, and Coach Vickie Denny joined forces to provide a fun day of skills and games for the children interested in volleyball. According to Coach Denny, "the clinic was an awesome way to give back to this community. Many of these children have never had the opportunity to play on an organized team or be given any specialized skill training so today was very special for them. It was also a great thrill for me to see Rachel and Emma interact so well with the children. Their impact on these young lives was tremendous."

The parents of all the children who attended were pleased with the different sports clinics showing much appreciation at the end of the day. When asked, "Why would someone give up a Saturday to come work with our children," Dan Wood's, the Executive Director of the NCCAA, response was simple. It is the second "C" in our name. Being a Christian group, we want to show forth the love of Christ through sports. Coach Denny, along with Rachel and Emma, were able to use volleyball as a tool for just that!
